03 What we do

Engineering, with character.

Custom animatronics, interactive props, themed installations and the creative engineering behind them — designed and built in the UK.

  1. Characters engineered from the mechanism outwards: how a jaw travels, how a skin loads a servo, how the motion reads from across a room. Designed to perform repeatedly, not just once for the camera.

    Typical scope

    • Character & creature animatronics
    • Eye, face and neck mechanisms
    • Silicone skin integration
    • Show control & sequencing
  2. Props that notice people and respond. Hidden sensors, reliable actuation and puzzle logic for escape rooms, exhibits and attractions, built to survive daily hands-on use.

    Typical scope

    • Escape-room puzzles & reveals
    • Sensor-triggered effects
    • Hidden locks & release mechanisms
    • Exhibit interactives
  3. The engineering behind a moment: moving scenery, kinetic set pieces and installations that tie mechanism, light and sound into one sequence.

    Typical scope

    • Kinetic installations
    • Moving scenic elements
    • Exhibition mechanisms
    • Integration with lighting & audio
  4. For problems that don’t fit a category. Mechanical design in CAD, rapid prototyping, embedded electronics and motion control for productions, studios and fellow makers.

    Typical scope

    • Mechanical design & CAD
    • Rapid prototyping & 3D printing
    • Embedded electronics
    • Motion control systems

04 Our approach

From imagination to motion.

Every build follows the same four stages. Each one ends with something you can see, test or sign off before the next begins.

  1. 01

    Concept

We start with the moment you want an audience to feel, then work out what has to move to create it.

Output Brief · references · motion intent

  2. 02

    Design

Mechanisms, structure and electronics are resolved in CAD before anything is cut or printed.

Output CAD · mechanism layout · control plan

  3. 03

    Prototype

Critical motions are built and tested early, so problems surface on the bench rather than on site.

Output Test rigs · motion trials · revisions

  4. 04

    Build

Final fabrication, finishing, programming and testing for repeatable, maintainable operation.

Output Build · testing · documentation

05 Behind the mechanism

What happens under the skin.

Animatronics live or die on what you can’t see: the linkages, the wiring, the code that times a blink. That work is done here, in-house.
